Inserting the batteries
Separate the multimeter from the measuring circuit and switch it off.
Before opening the battery compartment cover, remove the measuring
leads  from the multimeter.
Open the battery compartment
by loosening the two crosshead
screws at the rear and then removing the battery compartment cover

Connect the poles of the 9 V battery, with regard to the polarity, to the
press fasteners in the battery compartment
.
Carefully reclose the battery compartment cover

and then retighten
the two crosshead screws.
Preparing measuring leads and sockets for use
Before use, remove the protective caps from the measurement prods
and plugs on the measuring leads .
Preserve the protective caps and refit them if you do not intend to use
the device for an extended period.
Preparing the temperature sensor
Insert the yellow plug of the temperature sensor onto the red adaptor.
Thereby, ensure that the positive pole (+) of the yellow plug is connected
to the positive pole (+) of the red adaptor, and that the negative pole (-) of
the yellow plug is connected to the negative pole (-) of the red adaptor.
