Carrying out measurements
Important notices
• Always remove the measuring leads from the object being tested
before switching over to a new function or a different area of measure-
ment.
• The device may only be used in a dry and clean environment. Dirt and
moisture diminish the insulation resistances and this could, especially
with large voltages, lead to you receiving an electric shock.
• The device may only be utilised within the given measurement ranges.
• Before being taken into use, the device must be tested for correct func-
tioning (e.g. on a known current or voltage source).
• Steps are to be taken to ensure that the measuring leads are in a
faultless condition.
• For voltage measurements use exclusively the input sockets

• Connect the measuring leads correctly and appropriate to their
polarity.
• The device has an automatic polarity function.
• If the object being tested is not correctly connected to the multimeter
with the regard to polarity, the indicated measurement value is preceded by
a minus sign.
• With component measurements, the component being tested may not be
located within a switching, as this would falsify the measurement results.
