Procedure 7.15 - Replacing a Stairarm Connector C556 Navy,

WARNING
Before continuing with this procedure, review the Warning and Caution statements listed in
Section One, Things You Should Know.
1. Remove the three bolts that fasten the pivot arm connector to the stairarm. See Diagram
7.11.
2. Remove the retaining ring that fastens the lower pivot arm to the pivot arm connector.

3. Remove the stairarm connector. Remove the wave washer from the pivot arm connector.
4. Place the wave washer from step 5 on the replacement pivot arm connector. Slide the pivot
arm connector into the lower pivot arm and replace the retaining ring.
5. Hand start the three bolts that fasten the stairarm connector to the stairarm. Torque the
three pivot arm connector bolts to 125 inch pounds.
