Tunnel (6to4)
6to4 - is an Internet transition mechanism for migrating from IPv4 to IPv6, a system that allows IPv6
packets to be transmitted over an IPv4 network (generally the IPv4 Internet) without the need to
configure explicit tunnels. User can Enable or Disable the option.
4.5 Firewall
A firewall is software used to maintain the security of a private network. Firewalls block unauthorized
access to or from gaining access to private networks connected to the Internet. The PRN3009 has seven
option on firewall setting, which is Port Filtering, IP filtering, MAC Filtering, Port Forwarding, URL
Filtering, DMZ and VLAN setting.
Port- Filtering
Port Filtering is used to restrict local host from accessing the Internet service binding on the port or
port range. Port Filtering will deny certain port from being used in the network to secure from any
thread. All the ports need to blocks can be added into the list.
