BASIC CONFIGURATION
System Conguration
The System conguration page lets you change the unit’s System Name,
Location, and so on. In addition, this page provides a selectable Country
eld that automatically provides the allowed bandwidth and frequencies for the
selected country.
Units sold only in the United States are pre-congured to scan and display
only the outdoor frequencies permitted by the FCC. No other Country can be
congured. Units sold outside of the United States support the selection of a
Country by the professional installer.
Notes:
Non-US installers should not add an antenna system until the Country is
selected, the unit is rebooted, and the proper power level is congured.
The output power level of the nal channel selected by DFS scan can be
found in the Event Log.
The Country eld is not congurable for model 4954-R.
Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS)
Note:
Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) only applies to the Tsunami QB.11
5054-R.
The QuickBridge.11 supports Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) for FCC, IC,
and ETSI regulatory domains per FCC Part 15 Rules for U-NII devices, IC RSS-
210, and ETSI EN 301-893 and 302-502 regulations, respectively. These rules
and regulations require that 802.11a devices use DFS to prevent interference
with radar systems and other devices that already occupy the 5 GHz band.
Upon choosing a country on the System page, the Dynamic Frequency
Selection (DFS) and Transmit Power Control (TPC) features are enabled
automatically if the selected country has a regulatory domain that requires it.
The Country selection pre-selects and displays only the allowed frequencies for
the selected country.
Transmit Power Control
Transmit Power Control is a manual conguration selection to reduce the
output power in the radio. The maximum output power level for the operating
frequency can be found in the event log of the unit embedded software.
