Verifying that the Adapter Driver is Installed
If SANsurfer FC HBA Manager is having trouble connecting to the local host,
follow the procedure for your operating system to verify that the adapter driver is
installed. If the adapter driver is not installed, then install it (see the SANsurfer FC
HBA Manager Application Help or the QLogic Quick Start Guide).
If you determine that the adapter driver is installed, then consider the following:
If typing the host name in the Connect to Host dialog box, verify that you are
typing the correct name. Refer to the system server information to check the
system name. On the Connect to Host dialog box, select localhost.
The DNS or the local host file may contain an incorrect IP address for the
host name. Use the ping command to ping the host name, and then verify
that the correct IP address is translated from the name. If necessary,
reinstall the adapter driver.
Current Path dialog box does
not display my storage device
port names and LUNs.
Cause: The qlremote agent is unable to detect or communicate with
the devices.
Solution: Verify that the devices are online and operational. Verify that
the operating system driver detects and communicates with the
devices. Click the Refresh button to force a manual refresh. Verify that
the
FC/CNA HBA tree shows the appropriate device port name and
LUN information.
When I change the current
path in the Current Path dia-
log box, the
FC/CNA HBA
tree does not update.
