Hardware Installation
This section provides information on installing drives, memory modules, expansion cards, system fans, and
expansion units.
Installing 2.5-inch Drives
Warning
• Installing a drive deletes all data on the drive.
• Observe electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures to avoid damage to components.
•
Moving fan blades: Keep your hands and other body parts away from moving fan
blades.
•
Other moving components: Keep your hands and other body parts away from other
moving components.
Tip
The TS-h1290FX is compatible with 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drives, SATA solid-
state drives, and SATA hard disk drives.
1. Power o the NAS.
2. Remove the drive tray.
a. Optional: Insert the drive tray key and turn counter-clockwise to unlock the drive tray.
