15 Maintenance
You can perform the following maintenance work yourself:
n
Replacing the pan lid gasket [}83]
n
Replacing the pan drain valve gasket [}83]
If the network cable on your unit is defective, it may only be replaced by RATIONAL or your RATIONAL Service
Partner.
15.1 General safety instructions

Wear protective gloves to protect yourself from cuts from sharp edge on the metal
housing.
n
If you are using a sharp or pointed tool to replace the gasket, this may damage the
unit and optimal cooking results can no longer be achieved.
15.2 Replacing the pan lid gasket
1. Open the pan lid.
2. Pull the pan lid gasket out from the groove by hand without a tool.
3. Clean the groove with a soft sponge.
4. Moisten the retaining lips of the new gasket with soapy water.
5. First press the corners of the gasket into the corners of the groove.
6. Then press the rest of the gasket into the groove.
7. Make sure that the new gasket sits fully in the pan lid indentation.
15.3 Replacing the pan drain valve gasket
1. Open the pan valve [}19].
2. Unscrew the pan valve.
3. Pull the old gasket out by hand without a tool.
4. Clean the opening and the pan valve lid with a sponge.
5. Insert the new gasket.
6. Screw the pan valve back into place.
