1Generalcablingguidance
Cabletypesandlength
Itisimportanttousecablesoftheappropriatetypeandlength.
•UnlessotherwisestatedonlyusecablessuppliedbyRaymarine.
•Whereitisnecessarytousenon-Raymarinecables,ensurethattheyareof
correctqualityandgaugefortheirintendedpurpose.(e.g.:longerpower
cablerunsmayrequirelargerwiregaugestominimizevoltagedropalong
therun).
Strainrelief
Useadequatestrainreliefforcablingtoensurethatconnectorsareprotected
fromstrainandwillnotpulloutunderextremeseaconditions.
Cableshielding
Ensurethatcableshieldingisnotdamagedduringinstallationandthatall
cablesareproperlyshielded.
Caution:Transducercable
•DoNOTusethetransducercabletoliftorsuspendthe
transducer;alwayssupportthetransducerbodydirectly
duringinstallation.
•DoNOTcut,shorten,orsplicethetransducercable.
•DoNOTremovetheconnector.
Ifthecableiscut,itcannotberepaired.Cuttingthecablewill
alsovoidthewarranty.
4.2T ransducercableroutingguidance
Guidanceforroutingyourtransducer'scableisprovidedbelow.
Important:
Thetransducercable ’sconnectorissuppliedwithaseparatelockingcollar
assembly.DoNOTfitthelockingcollarassemblyuntilafterthecablehas
beenroutedtothedisplay.
•Theroutethetransducercablewilltak
etoyourMFDorsonarmodule
shouldbeplannedbeforeinstallingthetransducer.
•Thetransducerissuppliedwithan8m(26.2ft)fittedcable.Ifthecable
lengthistooshortthenextensioncablesareavailabletolengthenthe
cablerun.
Note:Itisrecommendedthatamaximumoftwocablee
xtensionsare
used,withthetotalcablelengthnotexceeding18m(59ft).
•ThecableshouldberoutedasfarawayaspracticalfromVHFradio
antennasandcabling.
•Thereshouldbesufficientslackisleftatthetransducerendtoallowforthe
transducertobetiltedupanddown.
•Anye
xcesscableshouldbecoiledupataconvenientlocation.
•Thecableshouldbesecuredatregularintervals.
RealVision™3Dtransducerextensioncable
Forbestperformance,cablerunsshouldbekepttoaminimum.However,for
someinstallationsitmaybenecessarytoextendthetransducercable.
