4.3 Install In-Cabinet Equipment
4.3.1 Install Connect-OWS Serial Gateway
All Ethernet conductors are isolated (ETH and PoE) and have indoor-rated surge
protection.
Notes:
1. Only a compatible Powered Device (PD) or surge protection device can be safely
connected to the PoE port connector. Connecting other types of Ethernet equipment
directly to the powered PoE Port connector may damage customer equipment.
2. Customer equipment including SCADA equipment, personal computers, routers, etc.,
must be connected only to the ETH and serial port connectors.
3. The PoE circuit does not amplify the Ethernet signal. The maximum total length of
the Ethernet cable from the customer equipment to the wireless terminal is 91.5 m
(300 ft).
4. The ground lug on the Connect-OWS device is internally connected to the ground pin
on the front panel pluggable terminal block (GND).
