• Put the piston ring in the cylinder and measure the
space with an air gap tool. The space must not be
more than 1 mm.
7.10.5 To examine the piston pin
• Make sure that the piston pin bearing is not
damaged.
• Make sure that the piston pin does not have
discolorations.
• Make sure that the piston pin does not have
damages on the surface against the bearing.
• If the piston moves too easily, replace the piston and
the piston pin.
• Make sure that the needle bearing does not have
discolorations or damages.
7.10.6 To do a leak test of the engine
1. Remove the cylinder cover. Refer to
To remove and
install the cylinder cover on page 13
.
2. Remove the carburetor and the gasket. Refer to
To
remove and install the carburetor on page 19
.
3. Put the inlet seal between the carburetor and the
insulator. Refer to
Servicing tools on page 9
.
CAUTION: Cut the inlet seal as shown until
it can be correctly set on the insulator.
4. Tighten the 2 carburetor screws.
5. Remove the muffler. Refer to
To remove and install
the muffler on page 15
.
6. Prepare another inlet seal to be used as an exhaust
seal. It does not need to be cut.
7. Put the exhaust seal between the muffler and the
cylinder. Refer to
Servicing tools on page 9
