4. Turn the part with the key slot away from the fan
side of the crankcase.
5. Install the crankshaft to the fan side of the
crankcase.
6. Use a puller tool to install the crankshaft to the fan
side of the crankcase. Refer to
Servicing tools on
page 9
.
7. Install a new crankcase gasket.
8. Install the the flywheel side of the crankcase.
9. Install the 4 screws.
10. Do a check of the distance between crank weight
and the crankcase on the two sides. If the distances
are not equal, use a plastic hammer to adjust the
crankshaft.
11. Clean the oil seals and the seat for the oil seals.
12. Lubricate the crankshaft.
13. Put the oil seals on the crankshaft. There is 1 oil
seal on the fan side and 1 oil seal on the starter
side. Lubricate with grease on the inner surface of
the oil seal, which touches the crankshaft.
