The engine does not stop

Conditions Possible causes Recommended step

The engine is too hot. The carburetor must be adjusted. Adjust the carburetor.

The cooling system is blocked. Clean the cooling fins on the cylinder and the

air intake screen.

The type of fuel is not correct or the fuel is not

mixed correctly.

Replace the fuel to the correct type of fuel

and the correct mixture.

There are deposits in combustion chamber. Disassemble the engine and examine the

combustion chamber.

The spark plug electrode is too hot. Clean the spark plug electrode or replace the

spark plug.

Other conditions. The ignition module has internal damage. Replace the ignition module.

The stop switch is broken. Replace the stop switch.

The wires to the stop switch is disconnected

or damaged.

Connect the cable to the stop switch or re-

place the wires to the stop switch.

There is no output power or the engine speed is not stable

The compression of

the engine is correct

and the engine sound

is as usual.

Air comes in to the fuel system. Make sure that all fuel line connections are

tight.

The fuel line is damaged. Examine the fuel lines and replace them if

necessary.

Air comes in between the cylinder and crank-

case.

Replace the cylinder base gasket.

Air comes in through the seal between the

crankcase halves.

Replace the seal of the crankcase halves.

There is water or dirt in the fuel system. Drain the fuel tank. Fill the fuel tank with new

fuel of the correct type.

The piston ring can not move freely in the

groove.

Disassemble the cylinder and piston, and ex-

amine the piston.

The muffler is blocked. Clean the muffler. Refer to
