As part of select outboards under the motor shroud
(engine cover) on the lower port side of the outboard
engine is a fuel lter. Periodically check to ensure the
fuel lter is clean and free of water. When reinstalling
the lter tighten to manufacturer’s speci cations. Check
for leaks a er starting the engine. For more information
refer to the outboard manufacturer’s owners manual or
contact a Regal dealer or marine professional.

element. Usi ng a
clean pan empty the
filter contents and
examine the fuel.
Water in fuel tends to
hug the bottom since
it is heavier than fuel and will show a di erent look. At
least yearly or on an as needed basis replace the lter
element. Fill the element up with fresh unleaded fuel of
the correct octane rating and turn it clockwise until tight.
Finish tightening with the spanner wrench. As always
check for leaks before starting the engine.
It is a great idea to keep extra lter elements on board in
protective wrap for emergency use.
