TYPICAL 12 VOLT HELM BREAKER PANEL
The helm breaker sub-panel protects various components
located in the vicinity of the helm area. The sub-panel is
controlled by the dash main breaker located on the bat-
tery management center panel.
The sub panel is located at the helm. In addition, various
electronic controllers are found here.
The skipper should learn the location of all DC breakers
on the vessel and the equipment they protect. For exam-
ple, a breaker may trip on the sub-panel but may not trip
the breaker on the battery management panel. Knowing
his breaker location will aid the skipper in troubleshoot-
ing problems faster.
Remember, always fi nd why a breaker “blows” before re-
setting it. Refer to the technical drawing section for ad-
ditional information.
