Single Capture Triggered I/Q Recording
The MESA 2.0 is capable of capturing and recording the in-phase and quadrature components of a signal
(I/Q Data) in order to analyze those signals with other test equipment. When used with the Alerts
feature on the MESA 2.0 it is possible to trigger the I/Q Recording based on an event tripping the set
threshold level.
To enable the I/Q Recording feature, the frequency span of the MESA 2.0 must be 14 MHz or less and a
USB drive with available space must be inserted into the USB port. (See pg. 100 note on supported file
systems.)
It is also necessary to select both the enable checkbox beside the threshold adjustment and the enable
box in the Single Capture Triggered I/Q recording section.
After closing the Alerts dialog, MESA 2.0 will begin monitoring for any signal to trip the set threshold.
During this time the screen is automatically locked to prevent changes to the frequency span, as this
could result in mixed sample rates in the IQ recording buffer.
Once triggered, it is necessary to re-enable the single capture triggered I/Q Recording from the Alerts
dialog if further triggered I/Q Recordings are desired.
To adjust the settings for I/Q Recording, press the configure button on the Alert Mode Control dialog.
(These settings are also available from the Mode Settings Menu when the frequency span is 14 MHz or
less.)
