DIESEL INJECTION
Leak flow from injectors: Check
K9K, and 832

a Disconnect:
-the diagnostic tool,
-the self-contained starter.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Remove the turbocharger outlet air pipe (see 12B,
Turbocharging, Intercooler air inlet pipe: Remo-
val - Refitting, page 12B-41) .
a Loosen the clip of the intercooler air outlet pipe from
the damper valve.
a Disconnect:
-the intercooler air outlet pipe on the damper valve,
-the damper valve connector,
-the camshaft position sensor connector.
a Disconnect the four transparent pipes of the tool
(Mot. 1771) from the diesel injectors.
a Push the diesel injector fuel return union clips to-
wards the front of the vehicle to place them into their
original positions.
a Remove the blanking plug from each diesel injector
fuel return rail opening.
a Lubricate the diesel injector fuel return unions with
SILICONE-FREE LUBRICANT (see Vehicle:
Parts and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B,
Consumables - Products) until the seals are comple-
tely covered.
a Place the diesel injector fuel return rail unions in
front of the diesel injector openings starting with in-
jector number 4 (timing end).
a Clip the diesel injector fuel return rail unions on the
diesel injectors starting with injector number 4 (timi-
ng end).
a Refit:
-the injector rail protector cover,
-the injector rail protector cover nut,
- the injector rail protector cover bolt.
a Clip on the injector rail protector cover.
a Fit the damper valve wiring.
a Clip the damper valve wiring onto the injector rail
protector cover.
a Connect:
- the camshaft position sensor connector,
- the connector to the damper flap.
a Fit the intercooler air outlet pipe.
a Connect the intercooler air outlet pipe on the damper
valve.
a Clip the turbocharger pressure sensor wiring onto
the intercooler air outlet pipe.
a Connect the turbocharger pressure sensor connec-
tor.
a Torque tighten the intercooler air outlet pipe clip
on the damper valve (5.5 N.m).
a Refit:
-the turbocharger air outlet pipe (see 12B, Turbo-
charging, Intercooler air inlet pipe: Removal -
Refitting, page 12B-41) ,
- the engine cover.
WARNING
Check the condition of the seals on the fuel
return unions on the injectors. Check that they
are not cut or crushed, and have not come out of
their grooves. Replace the entire diesel return
pipe if one of the components is damaged
Note:
Check that the unions of the fuel return rail are
correctly clipped.
