CHECKING
I - PREPARATION OPERATION FOR CHECK
a Remove the front engine cover.
a Remove:
- the bolt (1) of the intermediate air pipe between the
turbocharger and the intercooler,
- the nut (2) of the intermediate air pipe between the
turbocharger and the intercooler.
a Pull the clip (3) of the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
a Move the intermediate air pipe between the turbo-
charger and the intercooler away from the turbo-
charger air outlet pipe.
a Remove:
- the bolt (4) of the retaining bracket of the interme-
diate air pipe between the turbocharger and the in-
tercooler,
-the retaining bracket of the intermediate air pipe
between the turbocharger and the intercooler.

Mot. 1771 Kit for measuring SIEMENS
injector leak rate.
Mot. 1711 Kit for measuring injector leak
rate.
Essential equipment
self-contained starter
diagnostic tool
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injec-
tion: Precautions for repair, page 13B-1) .
IMPORTANT
Wear leaktight gloves (Nitrile type) for this opera-
tion.
