II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a It is essential to mark the position of the coolant-oil
heat exchanger.
a Remove:
-the nipple (2) from the oil-water heat exchanger,
-the oil-water heat exchanger (3) ,
-the oil-water heat exchanger seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) to clean and degrease:
-the oil-water heat exchanger joint face if it is to be
reused,
-the cylinder block gasket face.
a parts always to be replaced: coolant-engine oil
heat exchanger seal on the cylinder block (10,05,
05,12).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
-a new seal to the oil-water heat exchanger,
- the coolant-oil heat exchanger,
- the oil-coolant heat exchanger fitting.
a Torque tighten the oil-water heat exchanger nip-
ple (60 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Connect the cooling hoses to the oil-water heat ex-
changer.
a Fit the cooling hose clips onto the oil-water heat ex-
changer using the tool (Mot. 1448).
a Remove the tools (Ms. 583) from the oil-water heat
exchanger cooling hoses.
a Refit the oil filter (see 10A, Engine and cylinder
block assembly, Oil filter: Removal - Refitting,
page 10A-48) .
a Perform the following operations:
- top up of the coolant level,
- bleed the cooling system (see 19A, Cooling, Coo-
ling circuit: Draining - Refilling, page 19A-17) .
a Refit the engine undertray.

Prepare for the flow of fluid, and protect the sur-
rounding components.
WARNING
To ensure proper sealing, the gasket surfaces
must be clean, dry and not greasy (avoid any fin-
ger marks).
