Overview

The RESOL DL2 Datalogger is an interface device designed to connect RESOL controllers to the internet, enabling the logging of system data and parameterization of solar thermal systems. It facilitates remote access to system data via the VBus.net visualization portal and offers comfortable system parameterization through the RESOL RPT Parameterization Tool. The device is suitable for all RESOL controllers equipped with a VBus® interface.

Function Description:

The primary function of the DL2 Datalogger is to record system data from connected RESOL controllers. This data is stored in its internal memory and can be transferred via an SD card or accessed through its web interface. The device supports firmware updates via the internet or SD card, ensuring it remains up-to-date with the latest functionalities. It allows for detailed monitoring of system performance, including live data display in tabular overviews or schematic drawings of the solar system. Users can configure various settings such as log intervals, data display, network parameters, and remote access. The DL2 also provides statistics on data communication, memory capacity, and firmware versions.

Usage Features:

  • Web Interface: Integrated web interface accessible via an internet browser for status display, configuration, real-time data viewing, data export, customization, and data erasure.
  • Remote Access: Access to system data and parameterization via VBus.net or the RESOL RPT Parameterization Tool. Requires enabling VBus access over local network and/or VBus.net for remote access.
  • Data Logging: Internal memory logs system data at configurable intervals (1 second to 24 hours). Two logging modes are available: cyclic (overwrites oldest data when full) and linear (stops logging when full).
  • Data Export: Logged data can be exported to an SD card in VBus® protocol format or to a computer via the web interface in various file formats (tab-separated text, CSV, VBus® protocol data).
  • Firmware Updates: Can be performed via SD card or over the internet, extending functional range and enhancing operation.
  • Network Configuration: Supports dynamic (DHCP) or static IP address assignment. Port routing can be configured for accessing multiple dataloggers over the internet.
  • Live Data Display: Displays real-time data from connected controllers in tabular or schematic views. Units for live data can be customized, and background images can be uploaded for schematic representations.
  • User Management: Allows changing user passwords and configuring public access to specific menus for unregistered users.
  • SSH Configuration: Provides access to the operating system for advanced users with Linux administration knowledge (requires caution).

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Clean the product with a dry cloth; do not use aggressive cleaning fluids.
  • Data Security: Recommend regular backups of data stored on the SD card. Reset the device to factory settings to delete personal data before disposal or transfer. Change and note down remote access passwords.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues such as the device not being found by the DeviceDiscoveryTool or user password unavailability.
  • Firmware Updates: Regular firmware updates are recommended to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • ESD Protection: Users are advised to discharge static electricity before touching internal components to prevent damage.
  • Proper Usage: Use in dry interior rooms, avoid extreme temperatures (0-40 °C), and do not expose to strong electromagnetic fields. Ensure the housing is properly closed before commissioning.
