Duct smoke detector
Duct smoke detectors are supplied loose and installed on site:
• Determine the position of the duct smoke detector (see appendix "Data sheet duct smoke
detector", section "Mounting instructions and positioning")
• Mount duct smoke detector (see attachment "Data sheet duct smoke detector" chapter
"Assembly").
• Connect the duct smoke detector electrically (see the "Electrical connection" section in the
"Duct smoke detector data sheet" annex). The customer provides cables with clearly legible
labeling (as specified in the cable list) in the control cabinet of the AHU and, if necessary,
carries out other circuit-related measures. If fire or smoke dampers provided by the customer
are connected to the control cabinet of the AHU, the cables of the fire or smoke damper in the
control cabinet must be provided by the customer with clearly legible labeling (as specified in
the cable list; voltage supply and evaluation of two potential-free signals in 24 V).
• If smoke detectors control on-site fire or smoke dampers that are not connected to the control
cabinet of the AHU, a smoke detector with DIBt [German Institute for Structural Engineering]
approval suitable for this purpose is required. The system installer is solely responsible for the
appropriate selection of the smoke detector. In this case, the voltage supply of the fire or
smoke dampers must be routed without decoupling via the contact provided for this purpose on
the smoke detector. This potential-free contact is provided on a terminal strip in the control
cabinet of the AHU, but can also be used directly on the smoke detector.
