What to do if motor does not respond to a command in Rockwell Automation Servo Drives?
- KKimberly FrazierAug 7, 2025
If a motor isn't responding to commands in your Rockwell Automation Servo Drives, several factors could be at play. First, the axis might be disabled until the stopping time expires; try disabling the axis, waiting 1.5 seconds, and then re-enabling it. Check the motor wiring for any opens. Examine the motor cable shield connection. It's also possible the motor has malfunctioned, requiring repair or replacement. Ensure the coupling between the motor and machine hasn't broken. Verify the primary operation mode, velocity, or torque limits are correctly set. Finally, check the brake wiring, if applicable.
