Creating a Song
Mixing in the MIXER Screen
The Fantom-S’s performance mode has a Layer screen (press [LAYER/SPLIT]) and a Mixer
screen (press [MIXER]).
The Layer screen is convenient when you want to make settings for playing multiple patches
together (layered) or separately in different regions of the keyboard (split). In contrast, the
Mixer screen lets you make mixing settings such as adjusting the level and pan for each of the
sixteen parts. In this example we will use the MIXER screen to make fine adjustments to the
song that you just recorded.
Loop the Song
Since the song you recorded is just two measures long, let’s loop the song so that it will play
back repeatedly.
1.
Press [SEQUENCER].
The Song Play screen will appear.

3.
Press to move the cursor to “Repeat Times,” and either turn the VALUE
dial or use [INC] [DEC] to set this to “INF.”
“Repeat Times” specifies the number of times that the song will repeat. With the “INF
(INFINITE)” setting, playback will repeat until you press [STOP].
4.
Press to move the cursor “End Point,” and turn the VALUE dial or use
[INC] [DEC] to set the end point of the song.
In this example the song is two measures long, so set this to “003-01-000”.
5.
Press [7 (Loop)] to assign a check mark (
✔
).
Make sure that “LOOP” is displayed in the upper right of the screen to indicate that the loop
setting is turned on.
