For maximum accuracy, standardize the sensor in the process or a
process grab sample.
1. From the operating display, press any key to obtain the main menu. With
the cursor on “Calibrate”, press Enter (F4).
NOTE
The hold mode screen will appear if the screen is activated in
Section 3.4
. Changing the hold mode to ON holds the outputs
and relays in a fixed state to avoid process upsets to a control
system. Press enter to obtain the calibration menu.
A. Take a grab sample which is as close to the sensor as possible.
Write down the value the analyzer is reading at this time.
B. Using a calibrated conductivity instrument with automatic temperature
compensation, determine the conductivity of the process or grab sam-
ple. The calibration is best performed at the process temperature.
C. Before entering the standardized value, compare the value the ana-
lyzer is reading now to the value in Step A. Add this difference to the
reference value obtained in Step B. This accounts for the conductivi-
ty change while the grab sample is being measured.
2. The conductivity reading in large numbers is the live process conductivity
reading. The next line displays the conductivity reading when the display was
accessed. Pressing the arrow keys to change the reading and pressing enter
(F4) standardizes the conductivity reading. The analyzer will continue to
read this value until another key is pressed.
NOTE
Before exiting the calibration mode reinstall the sensor in the
process and change the hold mode setting to OFF.

Before removing the sensor from process the analyzer outputs can be
held to prevent process upsets. Refer to Section 3.4 to enable this fea-
ture. If hold function is enabled the hold mode screen will appear when
calibrate is selected.
The relays will act as selected in relay default, see Section 3.5.
To maintain the appearance and extend the life of enclosure, it should
be cleaned on a regular basis using a mild soap and water solution fol-
lowed by a clean water rinse.
