5 Start-up
5.1 Initial commissioning
After the ROTEX HPSU compact was installed and connected
completely, it will need to be undergo a one-time adaptation to
the installation environment to be carried out by technical per-
sonnel (configuration).
After this configuration is complete
, the installation is ready for
operation and the operator can make additional custom configu-
rations on it.
The heating specialist must instruct the operator [on using the
machine], must prepare the commissioning report, and fill out the
operating manual.
The settings of the optional components such the room ther-
mostat or ROTEX solar installation must be configured on the re-
spective components themselves.
5.1.1 Requirements
– The ROTEX HPSU compact is fully connected.
– The coolant system is dehumidified and filled with the speci-
fied amount of coolant.
– The heating and hot water systems ar
e filled and charged at
the right pressure (see chapter 7.5).
– The storage tank is filled up
to the overflow (see chapter 7.4).
– Optional accessories have been mounted on and connected
up.
– The control valves of the heating system
are open.
5.1.2 Start-up
Ɣ Turn power supply to ROTEX HPSU compact on.
Î After the start phase, the operating language selector is
displayed.
Ɣ Use th
e rotary switch to select the desired language.
Ɣ C
onfirm the changes with a brief push of the rotary switch.
Î The ROTEX HPSU compact Grundkonfiguration is
loaded.
Î The message "Gerätestart" is displayed.
Î The message "Initialisierung" is displayed.
Î The standard display for the current rotary switch setting
is displayed.
WARNING!
A ROTEX HPSU compact that is installed or started in-
correctly may not operate properly and is dangerous
for the health and safety of individuals.
Ɣ The ROTEX HPSU compact may only be started
up by authorised and trained heating experts.
CAUTION!
A ROTEX HPSU compact not put into operation
pro
perly can lead to damage to property and the envi-
ronment.

o prevent corrosion products and deposits,
observe the applicable regulations of technology
(VDI 2035, BDH/ZVSHK Technical information
"Deposit Formation"). Minimum requirements
regarding the quality of filling and supplementary
water:
– Water hardness (calcium and magnesium, cal-
culated as calcium carbonate): 3
mmol/l
– Conductivity: 2700 ȝS/cm
– Chloride: 2
50 mg/l
– Sulphate: 250 mg/l
– pH value (heating water): 6.5 - 8.5.
We recommend Fernox lime and corrosion protec-
tive agent KSK ( 15 60 50).
Ɣ During system
operation, the water pressure at the
pressure gauge must be checked at regular
intervals. If necessary, readjust by refilling
The operating language can be changed again at any
time.
