BA ROTEX HPSU compact 4 - 09/2013
8 x Faults and malfunctions
8.3 Fault codes
Circulation pump is
being excessively noisy
while running
Air in the water circuit ● Bl
eed the entire water circuit.
Noises caused by vibrations.
● Check the HPSU compact, its components and
covers to ensure they are fastened correctly.
Bearings damage in the circulation pump.
● Have the system checked by a ROTEX heating
technician.
Water pressure at pump inlet too low.
● U
sing the controller (rotary switch position ) check
whether sufficient water pressure (> 0.5 bar) is
available.
● C
heck that the pressure gauge is working correctly
(connect an external pressure gauge).
● Have the system checked by a ROTEX heating
technician.
Safety pressure relief
va
lve is leaking or
always open.
Expansion tank is defective.
● Have the expansion tank checked by a ROTEX
specialist heating technician.
Water quantity or water
pressure in the system
is too high.
● On the controll
er (rotary switch setting "Info" )
check whether there is adequate water pressure
(> 0.5 bar) (must be below the stated maximum
p
ressure) and where necessary drain water off until it
lies mid-range.
Safety pressure relief valve is stuck.
● Have the system checked by a ROTEX heating
technician.

requ
ired:
– HPSU compact 4-8 kW: > 720 l/h
– HPSU compact 11-16 kW: > 900 l/h
Check the following items:
● All
stop valves of the water circuit must be completely open.
● Optional water filters must not be contaminated.
● System must run within its operating parameters.
● System
must be completely evacuated.
● Using the controller (rotary switch position ) check whether
sufficient water pressure (> 0.5 bar) is available.
● T
he external static pressure must correspond to the character-
istic curve in the technical data for the heat generator.
A higher pressure indicates internal resistance in the water
circuit.
● Expa
nsion tank is defective.
● If this fault occurs during defrost operation in the operating
mode room heating or hot water supply: With optional backup
heater: Check its power supply and fuses.
● In th
e switch cabinets of HPSU compact, check the pump
fuse (FU1) and circuit board fuse (F1).
