IV- SAFETY
D.4 - Fire detectors:
It is the owner or skipper's responsibility to ensure that the alert mechanisms are in place (see drawing DDF AME 061 014), are installed in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and are in working order.
These alert mechanisms (for example, smoke or heat detectors) must be built in accordance with an international standard, be adapted to the
space being monitored, provide an audible alarm and be connected to the craft's electricity supply or be powered independently.
The detectors provided by the yard (optional) are equipped with batteries with a lifetime of around 10 years; these cannot be replaced. When
this period expires, the whole set must be replaced.
Verify regularly the operation of each detector (test button).
Replace them if necessary with an equivalent model.
