In general, the line/chain breaking resistance must not exceed 80% of the anchor point breaking resistance.
Anchor points that show visible signs of deterioration must be replaced.
Always remain at low speed when towing or being towed. Do not exceed the maximum displacement speed of a hull during
towing.
A towing cable must always be moored so that it may be jettisoned under load.
IV- SAFETY
Responsibility:
It is the responsibility of the owner/operator to ensure that mooring ropes, towing cables, chains, ground tackle and
anchors are suitable for the craft's intended use, i.e. lines or chains should not exceed 80% of the breaking strength of the
corresponding anchor point.
H - Anchoring, mooring and towing
The breaking strength of the anchorage points is 8 tonnes per cleat, see drawing DDF ACC 061 028
