Installation
Risk of regulator damage due to exces-
sively high or low tightening torques.
Observe the specied torques when tighten-
ing regulator components. Excessive tighten-
ing torques lead to parts wearing out more
quickly. Parts that are too loose may cause
leakage.
Î Observe the specied tightening torques
(see 'Tightening torques' in Annex).
5.3.1 Installing the regulator
Before installing the regulator, tighten the
blanking plug(s) at the side of the valve body
using a suitable box wrench (see 'Tightening
torques' in the Annex).
The regulator can be installed into the down-
stream pressure pipe (return ow pipe) or
the upstream pressure pipe (ow pipe) of the
plant. See installation examples in Fig.5-2.
1. Close the shut-off valves (1, 6) upstream
and downstream of the regulator while
the regulator is being installed.
Î Mounting the valve
2. Remove the protective caps from the
valve ports before installing the valve.
3. Lift the valve using suitable lifting equip-
ment to the site of installation. Observe
the ow direction through the valve. The
arrow on the valve indicates the direction
of ow.
NOTICE
!
Note
4. Make sure that the correct ange gaskets
are used.
5. Bolt the pipe to the valve free of stress.
Î Mounting the actuator
6. Fasten the actuator on the valve by tight-
ening the coupling nut (11). Observe the
alignment of the control line connection.
Observe the specied tightening torques
(see 'Tightening torques' in Annex).
Î Mounting the control line
7. Mount the control line onto the valve and
actuator. Observe the specied tighten-
ing torques (see 'Tightening torques' in
Annex).
Î Mounting the electric actuator without
fail-safe action
Read the mounting and operating instruc-
tions of actuators with fail-safe action (see
documents listed under 'Referenced docu-
mentation' in the 'Safety instructions and
measures' section).
8. Mount the electric actuator (1) on the
valve connection (2). Refer to the associ-
ated mounting and operating instructions
of the electric actuator. Observe the
specied tightening torques (see 'Tighten-
ing torques' in Annex).
9. Connect the power supply to the electric
actuator (1). Refer to the associated
mounting and operating instructions of
the electric actuator.
