Fig.28: Volume restriction Q
The volume restriction Q serves to adapt the
air output capacity to the size of the actua-
tor:
− Actuators with a transit time < 1s, e.g.
linear actuators with an effective area
smallerthan240cm²,requirearestrict-
edairowrate(MIN).
− Actuators with a transit time ≥ 1s do not
requiretheairowratetoberestricted
(MAX).
The position of volume restriction Q also de-
pends on how the signal pressure is routed
at the actuator in SAMSON actuators:
'SIDE' inscription
– For actuators with a signal pressure
connection at the side, e.g.
Type3271-5
– For actuators from other manufactur-
ers
'BACK' inscription
− For actuators with a signal pressure con-
nectionattheback,e.g.Type3277-5
Malfunction due to changed start-up settings.
Initialize an initialized positioner again after
the position of the volume restriction has
been changed.
7.2 Adapting the display direc-
tion
To adapt the reading on the display to the
mounting situation of the actuator, the dis-
playcontentscanbeturnedby180°.
