INSULATING THE REFRIGERANT PIPE
Insulating the branch joint
Header joint
• Fasten the header joint using a cable tie and cover the connected
part.
• Insulate the header joint and the welding part and wrap the connected
part with an adhesive insulation tape to prevent it from defrosting.
Outdoor joint & gas side of the outdoor unit
• Use an insulation that should be able to handle the interior temperature over 120°C(248°F).
• Wrap the branch joint with an insulation of a thickness of at least 10mm(3/8˝) as shown in
the picture.
• Wrap the connected part between the Outdoor joint and the gas side of the outdoor unit
to prevent it from defrosting.
