Message Options
There are different options available for text and multimedia
messages. Some are available before composing a message,
and others are available while composing a message.
From a Home screen, touch
Messages.
Options Before Composing a Message
Before you compose a message, the following icons appear
at the top:
Search
: Search through all of your messages for a certain
word or string of words. Enter a search string in the Messaging
Search window then touch on the keyboard. Only appears if
there are existing message threads.
Compose
: Compose a new message.
Touch
More options
to see these messaging options:
Select
: Select one or more message threads. Only appears if
there are existing message threads.
Delete
: Deletes any message thread. Select the messages to
delete and a green check mark appears next to the message.

. Only appears if there are existing message
threads.
Draft messages
: Displays the draft messages folder and its
contents.
Locked messages
: Displays the locked messages folder and its
contents.
Scheduled messages
: Displays the scheduled messages folder
and its contents.
Spam messages
: Displays the spam messages folder and its
contents.
Font size
: Sets a default font size for messages.
Settings
: Accesses Messaging settings. For more information,
refer to “Messages Settings” on page 89.
Help
: Provides help topics on messaging.
Options While Composing a Message
While composing a message, the following options appear on
the left for adding items to your message:
Attach
: Attach an item to your message, including multimedia
(video, photos, audio) and app items (memo, calendar event,
map, contacts).
Emoticons
: Insert an emoticon into your message. These are
different from Smileys in that you can choose from a wide variety
of multimedia drawings.
