10.7 Roadway Cutting - with Traffic
NOTE: The following descriptions are for a single
lane highway (one lane of traffic in each direction).
XH1500 standard blade rotation is designed for
optimum cutting “with traffic”. With traffic means
cutting in the right ditch with traffic on the left. The
wing blade rotations (right - counter-clockwise, left -
clockwise) help to lift or stand up the grass, that has
been trampled by the tractor, while it is being cut.
The clockwise center section rotation helps to lift
the grass in the right track, which is lower in the
ditch, where the growth tends to be heavier. This
blade rotation set up directs material into the ditch
away from the road.
XH1000 standard blade rotation is designed for
optimum cutting “with traffic”. With traffic means
cutting in the right ditch with traffic on the left. Both
the clockwise center rotation and counter-clockwise
right wing rotation pick up the tramped grass in the
right tractor tire track.
10.8 Roadway Cutting - Against Traffic
NOTE: The following description is for a single lane
highway (one lane of traffic in each direction)..
If the XH1500 with standard rotation is used
“against traffic”, it may leave a strip of longer grass
in the left tire track. If the cutter is to be consistently
used for cutting “against traffic”, it is recommended
that the center section gearbox and blades be
changed to a counter-clockwise rotation. This will
help pick up the left tire track which is lower in the
ditch, where the grass tends to be heavier.
