Components inside engine com-
partment may be hot. When start-
ing or operating the engine, do not
touch any electrical part. Never
leave any object, rag, tool, etc., in
the engine compartment or in the
bilge.

When done, unhook the steering pole
holder and place the end in its recep-
tacle as shown.

Ensure fire extinguisher is properly po-
sitioned in its location prior to rein-
stalling engine cover.
When reinstalling engine cover, prop-
erly insert engine cover tab into
C-hook of body.
A distinctive snap will be felt when en-
gaging the engine cover latch. Make
sure the engine cover is secure by
giving it a tug. If the engine cover
cannot be latched easily, check to
make sure the fire extinguisher is po-
sitioned properly and no object in the
storage tray is interfering with the en-
gine cover.
WARNING
To prevent pinching your fingers
in the latch when installing the
engine cover, always hold it by
putting your hand in the recess
designed for that purpose and
identified by a pictogram.
