Instruction Manual Multiscan 8+
1 INTRODUCTION
The highly innovative and versatile MULTISCAN 8+ central units the ideal solution for
small systems with up to 16 gas detectors.
The system provides for the direct connection of 8 detectors to the central unit (4-20mA)
and to additional 8 detectors that can be connected directly to the RS485 bus or via a
remote module with 8 x STG/IN8-S inputs.
Each input can be configured for different types of gas: toxic, refrigerant, flammable, and
oxygen, both for their deficiency and enrichment.
The backlit display offers an accurate indication of gas concentration and allows the
display of established alarm levels.
The central unit manages up to 38 relay outputs, of which 6 are on board the central unit
and the other 32 are via STG/OUT16S and STG/16REL cards.
The central unit is supplied in an ABS housing and can contain 2 x 12Vdc, 7Ah batteries to
ensure that the system works even in the event of a power failure.
MULTISCAN 8+ is SIL1 and ATEX certified, compliant to EN 60079-
0:2012 and EN 60079-29-1:2016 standards.

Other features of the MULTISCAN 8+, central unit are:
Event log can be displayed on the screen or downloaded to a PC.
USB and RS232 serial port for PC connection for programming and control via specific
software.
Ability to view battery disconnection.
