SCALING
The Prophet-600's TUNE system has a wide
enough
range to correct all but the most
grossly out-of-tune oscillators and filters.
Periodic adjustment may nevertheless
be
required.
CAUTION! We
have
provided
this scaling procedure information
because it may be needed in an emergency.
This
does
not change
the fact that you
void
your
warranty when you open the case. If
you doubt your ability to perform this procedure, please refer
your instrument to a qualified
service center,
or
contact the SCI
Service
Department.
A poorly-tuned machine
exhibits greater "beating" between voices, particularly as the
PITCH wheel
is
rotated to its extremes. Oscillator and filter scaling is simplified
through the use of a special
routine
which can be
activated
only
after the instrument
is
opened up. To scale the oscillators and filters:
1. Warm-up the instrument thoroughly. Switch power off.
2. Remove the 2 upper screws from both wooden side panels.
3. Lift up the front panel.
