5.4 Waste heat
Ensure that the cooling fins can dissipate waste heat into the environment by free con-
vection.
Observe the following notes to ensure optimum heat convection:
• Use SEW‑EURODRIVE mounting systems or suitable spacers, e.g.:
– Spacers
– Profiles
– Square pipes
– Mounting plates
– T-beams
– Rails
• Ensure that the cooling fins are not located in a closed hollow space.
• It is essential that a minimum distance of 15mm between the highest cooling fin
and the next surface, e.g. mounting plate, is maintained.
• Avoid heat sources in the immediate proximity of the device.
