6.6 Cable routing
Observe the following when routing the cables:
• Use suitable cables to connect power supply and communication. For more infor-
mation on connection descriptions, refer to chapter "Electrical connec-
tions"(→271).
• Route power cables and signal cables in separate cable ducts.
• Maintain the greatest possible distance between power cables and signal cables.
• Avoid using long cables running parallel to one another.
For further information on EMC compliant installation, refer to the following documen-
tation: "Drive Engineering – Practical Implementation, Electromagnetic Compatibility
(EMC) in Drive Engineering".
6.7 Shielding
• Use shielded power and electronics cables.
• Connect the shield and make sure it is grounded over a wide area at both ends.
When using cables with multiple shielding, also make sure that the inner shields
are grounded over a wide area at both ends.
• Use EMC-capable plug connectors.
• For external bus connections, refer to the bus-specific installation instructions.
