3. Loading the fax paper (FO-20PR)
• Your fax machine prints incoming faxes on a special kind of paper
called fax paper.
• The fax machine’s print head creates text and images by applying
heat to the fax paper.

Grasp the finger hold as shown and pull up to open the operation
panel.
Note: Do not peel off or bend
this strip of film.

Remove the packing paper.

Unwrap the roll of thermal paper and place it in the compartment.
♦ Important: The roll must be placed so the leading edge of the
paper unrolls as shown. (The paper is only coated on one side for
printing. If the roll is placed backwards, the paper will come out
blank after printing.)

Place the paper roll shims on each side of the paper compartment.
• The ribbed side of the shims should face inwards (toward each
other).

Insert the leading edge of the paper into the slot as shown. Continue
to push the paper through the slot until it comes out the opening in
the front of the machine.

Make sure the paper is aligned between the arrows, and then flip
down the paper guide.

Flip up the front paper guide.

Insert one end of the line cord into the socket on the back of the
machine marked TEL. LINE. Insert the other end into a wall telephone
socket.

Note:
• In Germany, the machine is supplied with a N-coded line cable,
enabling you to use an extension (cordless) telephone on the same
line. If you don’t have the standard NFN-outlet of TELEKOM, you
can purchase an NFN-adapter at your retailer.
• The TEL. SET socket is not available no the fax. We recommend
that you plug the answering machine line cable into the right con-
nector of the TAE wall outlet, a (e.g.: cordless) telephone into the
middle connector and fax line cord into the left connector.

Close the operation panel, making sure it clicks into place.
• A short length of the paper will feed out.
Grasp the paper by the edge and pull upward to tear it off.
