      If you cannot dial with your Sharp Fax Machine, ensure the power cord is properly plugged into a power outlet and that the telephone line is correctly connected to both the TEL. LINE jack and the wall jack. Also, verify that the fax is set to the correct dialing mode for your telephone line.

      If your Sharp Fax Machine is powered on but not transmitting, ensure the receiving machine has fax paper. Also, check that the telephone line cord is plugged into the TEL. LINE jack, and not the TEL. SET jack. If the receiving machine is in manual mode without an attendant, reception won't be possible. If the receiving machine isn't a Sharp model, ensure it's G3 compatible. Finally, check the display for any error messages.

If the transmitting machine has polling security, make sure that your fax number has been entered both in your fax and in the transmitting machine.
