Polling (Requesting a Fax Transmission)

Dial the fax machine you want to poll
using one of the following methods:
•
Pick up the handset (or press the
SPEAKER
key) and dial the full
number. Wait for the fax
answerback tone.
•
Press the
SPEED DIAL
key and
enter a 2-digit Speed Dial number.
•
Enter the full number using the
numeric keys.

Press Rapid Key E/POLL.
•
If you used the handset, replace it
when POLLING appears in the
display. Reception will begin.

Requesting transmission
Note:
Rapid Dial Keys cannot be used for polling. To dial a Rapid Dial
location, press the
SPEED DIAL
key and then enter the 2-digit number
corresponding to the Rapid Key.
Turnaround polling
After polling a fax machine, you can send a document to that machine
on the same connection. Simply place the document to be sent in the
feeder and follow the steps described above in
Requesting
transmission
. When polling is finished, the document will be
automatically transmitted.

The other fax machine must also have Turnaround Polling capabil-
ity.
