Removing the clutch hub and the clutch basket:
• Drain the engine oil and the engine
coolant.
• Remove the clutch housing. (see
disassembling the right side paragraph)
• Remove the clutch. (see clutch removal
paragraph)
• Remove the clutch release bearing
assembly.
• Retain the clutch hub using tool 1814.
• Loosen the clutch hub nut.
Attention, make sure the special timing
tool number 1819 is not installed, if it is, severe
damage could occur to the crankshaft and
crankcase.
• Remove the hub and the nut.
• Inspect the needle bearings and replace
if necessary.
• Visually inspect the hub and the housing.
Reassembling the clutch hub components:
• Install the thrust washer.
• Install the needle bearings.
• Install the clutch housing.
• Install the spacer washer.
• Install the clutch hub.
• Apply engine oil to the shaft threads and
the fixing nut.
• Install the conical washer.
• Install the fixing nut.
Torque the fixing nut to:
80Nm.
• Check for free rotation of the clutch hub.
• Reinstall the clutch release bearing
assembly, the clutch and the clutch housing in
the reverse order of their removal.
