he safety evaluation module receives implausible output signals from the two
sensors beyond the duration of the maximum discrepancy time (see "Technical
data", page 38).

An internal error has occurred in the SICK safety evaluation module or in one of its
components.
3.4 System components
The UE410 Safeguard Detector Box safety system consists of the following compo‐
nent
s:
•
One or two sensor pairs, each consisting of two identical Safeguard Detector pho‐
toelectric proximity sensors (2 × 10 Hz).
•
One SICK UE410-SD safety evaluation module

Safeguard Detector sensors
T
he sensor part of the system consists of one or two sensor pairs. Each individual sen‐
sor of this sensor pair can trigger the safety function. To do so, at least two sensors
have to detect a physical guard. As a result of this dual-channel structure (“1 out of 2”),
the system and sensor are single-failure-proof.

The detection zone of the sensors is 30 to 100 mm:
•
Out
put Q pulsates at 10 Hz and the yellow status LED lights up if an object is in
the detection zone.
•
Output Q switches off and the yellow status LED goes out if there is an object
within 0 to 30 mm.

UE410-SD safety evaluation module

he UE410-SD is a safety evaluation module for the Safeguard Detector sensors. Up to
2 sensor pairs can be connected to the UE410-SD.
The wiring of I1 allows the user to select whether the two-channel safety output Q1/2 is
controlled only by sensor pair A or by both sensor pairs A and B.
