Interference of the sensors
DANGER
T
he following types of interference must be ruled out because they could impair the
safety function.
Mirrored, reflective, shiny, or transparent surfaces and holograms are not permit‐
ted in the detection zone.
No light source and no reflective or retroreflective objects may be located in the
extension of the beam path outside of the detection zone (i.e. behind the object to
be detected). If this condition cannot be ensured, the correct logic of the sensors
must be checked using a suitable test. The detection capability of the protective
device must be ensured.
Direct sunlight or very bright sunlight must be prevented from interrupting the
detection zone of the sensors.
The sensors must not be illuminated with low-frequency ambient light in the area
around 100 Hz or with high-frequency ambient light in the kHz range.
5.2 Mounting the sensors
b
T
he sensors are mounted using a suitable mounting bracket, see "Ordering infor‐
mation for accessories", page 46.
b
Use self-locking nuts.
b
Do not screw the fixing screws tightly yet because the sensor needs to be
realigned after electrical installation, see "Positioning and aligning the sensors",
page 27.
b
The maximum permissible tightening torque of the fixing screws is 0.8 Nm.
5.3 Mounting the control switch for reset
The reset control switch must be mounted outside of the hazardous area so that it can‐
not be actuated by a person who is inside the hazardous area. In addition, the operator
must have a complete overview of the hazardous area when actuating a control switch.
5.4 Mounting the UE410-SD
This section contains instructions on mounting the UE410-SD safety evaluation mod‐
ule
.
The following steps are necessary after mounting and installation:
Establish the electrical connections (see "Electrical installation", page 21)
Check the installation (see "Validation", page 29)
DANGER
T
he UE410-SD is only suited for mounting in a control cabinet with an enclosure rating
of at least IP 54.
