Basic protective measures against discharge of static electricity
• Ensure good grounding:
When handling electrostatically sensitive devices, ensure that personnel, the workplace and
packaging are well grounded. This way you avoid static electricity.
• Avoid direct contact:
Only touch electrostatic sensitive devices if this is unavoidable (e.g. during maintenance
work). Handle the modules in such a way that you do not touch any component pins or
conductor tracks. In this way, the energy of the discharge cannot reach and components
sensitive to damage.
If you have to make measurements on a module, discharge your body to ground before
performing the work. Touch earthed metallic objects to do this. Only use grounded
measuring devices.
