WARNING
Changing
the printed circuit boards while the system unit is connected to AC
power could result in death or serious injury to personnel, and/or damage to
equipment.
Ensure that the system unit is unplugged—that it is NOT connected to AC
power—before attempting to install or change cards. Do not attempt these
procedures unless you are thoroughly familiar with precautions required when
working around high voltage equipment. Follow appropriate safety precautions.
!
CAUTION
There is the risk that components on the communications card could be
damaged by the discharge of static electricity
.
Before handling the card, be sure that you are grounded by using a grounded
wrist strap. For an alternative, but less effective, precautionary measure, you
can discharge static electricity by touching a grounded piece of metal.
You
can install a second ethernet communications card to link the OSx
station to an additional network.
