2.3.6 Release protocol between PLC and SINUMERIK Integrate
Function description
During a test, there is communication between the SINUMERIK Integrate system
and the PLC. The system signals that a test with axis movements shall be
executed. The PLC puts the machine in a suitable state and signals to the system
that the test can be performed.
The protocol allows test series that are to be carried out with a maintenance
schedule to be executed in a fully automatic manner while being monitored by the
PLC.
2.3.7 Contour test
Function description
A dry run is possible to ensure measurements can safely be performed on the
machine. The machine operator has the option of executing a dry run with reduced
velocity before beginning the test run configured to a specific type. This allows the
operator to test for safety path motions (contour monitoring) of the machine axes to
avoid collisions, etc.

Contour test:
Running-in the axis test - motion sequence, without data acquisition, in order to
ensure that there are no collisions. Stop start, operating mode and override may
be used as required.
