4.1 Encoder
Motors with DRIVE-CLiQ interface are designed to operate with the SINAMICS converter system.
Signal transmission to the converter is performed digitally.
The motors have an electronic rating plate that simplies commissioning and diagnostics.
The motor and encoder system are automatically identied and all motor parameters are
automatically set.

NOTICE
Damage to electrostatic sensitive devices
The contacts of the DRIVE-CLiQ interface have direct contact with components that can be
destroyed by electrostatic discharge (ESDS).
• Avoid touching the terminals directly with hands or tools. They may be electrostatically
charged and damage components.
The encoders are suitable for the extended safety functions.
