WARNING
Sensor check in remote installation
Do not declare a sensor as defective based only on a sensor check in remote installations.
Repeat the sensor check with the Vericator connected directly to the sensor.
This is necessary to rule out the cable installation as the source of the verication failure.
Problem Checklist
Vericator fails the transmitter test Pins inside the Vericator connection cable plugs are properly exposed, i.e. contacts are
visible on both ends.
Vericator fails the sensor insulation
test
• Sensor is lled with liquid.
• No unscreened coil and electrode leads lengths of more than 50 mm.
• Electrode and coil leads not twisted together.
• No short circuit between electrode and coil leads.
• A correct earthing installation of sensor and transmitter.
• PCB terminal center screw mounted in compact installation or a wire connected from
PE to ground in the terminal box.
• In remote installation, coil cable screen must be connected at both sensor and trans‐
mitter ends. Electrode cable screen only connected at sensor end.
• No cable insulation failure or interruption of the signal cable.
• No visible moisture in the sensor and transmitter terminal box.
• No lightning protection or EMC protection installed, that will inuence the signals.
• No deposit of non conductive material coating the electrodes.
Vericator does not turn on Replace the battery and check device operation.
WARNING
Important
Please check that the grounding wire has been mounted to the terminal box.
WARNING
Important
Please check that an grounding wire has been mounted between connection plate SHIELD and
connection box. If it is missing, please mount an earth wire of at least 1 mm
