NOTICE
Penetration of moisture into the device
Damage to device.
• Make sure when carrying out cleaning and maintenance work that no moisture penetrates
the inside of the device.
8.2 Annual calibration
The SITRANS Vericator must undergo annual calibration for continued use. Annual calibration
assures the quality of the measurements undertaken by the SITRANS Vericator, establishes
metrological traceability and fullls the requirements of ISO 9001.
The due date for calibration can be seen in the mobile IQ app, when connected to the
Vericator test unit, and on the printed or stored verication certicate. While using the app
with a connected Vericator testunit, 3 months before expiration a prompt will appear. It will
appear again 1 month before expiration and every time the app connects to the Vericator
test unit with an expired calibration afterwards.
A Vericator with an expired calibration will still be able to perform verications, but the
certicate will include a "not calibrated" watermark.
Re-calibration of the SITRANS Vericator is oered at our Measurement Instrumentation
factory. Contact your local Siemens representative for support: Technical support (Page48).
Follow the guidelines described under Return procedure (Page40).
8.3 Ordering licenses
Licensing model
To use the SITRANS Vericator for full or partial verications, you need an active license installed.
The Vericator licenses are tied to the device, which means they are stored on the Vericator and
cannot be transferred to another device.
Each license is valid for one year, with an additional two months included to account for
shipping times during the yearly recalibration. Therefore, the license expires 420 days after
activation. You can activate a maximum of two licenses on a Vericator.
A license enables the Vericator to run a specied number of verications, as dened in the
license package.
